HANAYA’s roots trace back to a family tradition of textile craftsmanship. Jaylord Mutia, founder and CEO, along with his spouse and partner in life and business, Ailene Tato Mutia, was inspired by his parents who made rugs for a living. After graduating college, he saw an opportunity in the garment industry. What started as a small shirt-making business in 2015, with the support and collaboration of Ailene, has grown into a full-fledged custom apparel manufacturing company.
We began by outsourcing talent, but as demand grew, we built our own team of skilled tailors and designers. This growth wasn’t just about expanding our business; it was about creating a reliable solution for clients seeking to bring their apparel ideas to life. The name “HANAYA” is a fusion of two endearing nicknames belonging to their daughter, Liegh Hanne Mutia. “Hana” embodies elegance, grace, and sophistication, while “Aya” represents individuality, creativity, and a bold sense of self-expression.
